THE 3RD PLACE

ARTIST-STUDIO
& Maker-Space

Something is happening to the Old Reservoir Library!

It’s becoming an artist-studio & maker-space.

A long-forgotten building will once again be a 3rd place.

The old Reservoir Library has always been a place for people to come together—originally as a hub for learning, curiosity, and community life in the north of Darebin. Even though it’s been sitting empty for years, it still carries that sense of being a shared space, right in the heart of the neighbourhood. The aim with ‘The 3rd Place’ is to bring that energy back in a new form: turning it into a working creative hub filled with artist studios and a central space where people can gather, make, and connect. Rather than changing what the building is, the idea is to continue its story—keeping it open, accessible, and useful to the community, just in a way that reflects how people live and create now.
